ISO 45001 Internal Auditor Training
A practical course for staff who will audit your occupational health and safety management system against ISO 45001, run in Malé or at your premises.

Every ISO 45001 system needs internal audits. Clause 9.2 of the standard asks for audits at planned intervals, carried out by people who are objective and impartial, and certification bodies will ask to see the audit programme, the reports and what was done about the findings.
This course teaches your staff to plan an audit, gather evidence, write findings that are clear and fair, and follow them up until they are closed.
What Participants Learn
- The structure and requirements of ISO 45001:2018, clause by clause
- How to plan an audit programme for the year and prepare a single audit
- Interviewing, sampling records and observing work on site
- Writing nonconformities that a manager can act on
- Reporting to top management and following up corrective actions
Format
The course runs over two or three days, with exercises based on Maldivian workplaces such as resort back-of-house areas, construction sites, boats and plant rooms. It is conducted by an international partner firm with accredited trainers, who provide the materials and certificates of completion.
The course runs in Malé or at your premises, for your own team or as one of our open programmes.
After the Course
New auditors learn most from their first real audits. We can help you draw up an audit programme for the year and join your auditors on their first audit to coach them on site. If you are still building your management system, see ISO 45001 consultancy.

Common Questions
Do participants need prior safety experience?
Some familiarity with workplace safety helps, but the course starts from the structure of the standard. Participants who will run audits soon after the course get the most from it.
Is this a lead auditor course?
No. This course prepares staff to audit their own organisation. Lead auditor courses for third-party auditing are a separate programme; ask us if you need one.
How many internal auditors do we need?
Enough that nobody has to audit their own work. For most organisations that means at least two or three trained auditors, so that departments can audit each other.
