We run ISO management system projects in the Maldives together with a project consultant from our international partner, a firm that specialises in ISO consultancy. We coordinate the project locally and the consultant provides the technical guidance, from the first gap assessment through documentation and staff training to preparation for certification.

How a Project Runs

1. Gap assessment. We review your processes, controls and documents against the standard and list what needs to change.
2. Project planning. Scope, responsibilities, resources and a schedule, agreed with senior management.
3. Process mapping and documentation. Procedures, work instructions, forms and records, kept as short as the standard allows.
4. Implementation. Controls, responsibilities and performance measures put into practice in the relevant departments.
5. Training. Awareness sessions for staff and, where needed, internal auditor training.
6. Internal audit and readiness assessment, with corrective action before the external audit.
7. Certification support. We help you prepare for the certification body's audit and respond to its findings.
8. Continual improvement. Monitoring, management review and follow-up after certification.

Who Does What

Mentora is your local coordinator. We handle communication between you and the consultant, arrange meetings, site visits and interviews, keep the schedule, follow up outstanding actions, organise training and keep you informed of progress.

The partner's consultant does the technical work: gap assessments, advice on system design, document reviews, guidance on risk assessment and controls, internal auditor training and internal audits, and advice on when you are ready for certification.

Your organisation provides the resources, makes the decisions, carries out the agreed actions and runs the system afterwards. Responsibilities, deliverables and milestones are agreed in writing at the start of each project.
