Training and Development
Train-the-Trainer Programmes
Prepare your experienced staff to run induction, technical and safety training to a consistent standard, with session plans, simple assessments and proper records.

Your most experienced staff already train new colleagues. Usually they do it without preparation, materials or any way of checking that the new person can do the job afterwards. Each trainer teaches it differently, and the quality depends on who happens to be on shift.
With some training of their own, they can do it well and the same way every time. For a resort that inducts dozens of new staff each season, or a company with teams on several islands, that is often the most practical way to keep standards up.
What Participants Learn
- How adults learn, and how to plan a session around what people need to do afterwards
- Writing session plans, handouts and short practical assessments
- Running demonstrations and checking that a person is competent before signing them off
- Working with mixed groups, including staff with limited English or Dhivehi
- Keeping training records that will satisfy an auditor or an inspector
How the Course Runs
The course usually takes three days. On the last day each participant runs a short session of their own and receives written feedback from us and from the group. Participants leave with at least one session plan they can use straight away.
Training Records and the Law
The Workplace Safety and Health Act requires employers to give staff instruction, training and supervision in working safely. Inspectors and auditors will ask to see records of who was trained, in what and when. In-house trainers who keep proper records make that easy to show.
We can also review your existing induction and on-the-job training materials, and help you set up a training record system.
Common Questions
Do participants receive a certificate?
Yes. Participants who complete the course and the practical session receive a certificate of completion.
Can the course use our own training materials?
Yes, and we recommend it. Participants work on the induction or technical sessions they will actually deliver, so the course produces materials you can use.
How many people can attend?
Up to twelve participants, so that everyone has time to run and receive feedback on a practice session.
